Hey, what's new with Eytan?

- I think that the DVD for the film Palindromes is out now. Check out the four songs I wrote for the film in the comfort of your own living room.

- Belated CD release show scheduled for Saturday February 5th at 9pm at the Baggot Inn, 82 W. 3rd St. (between Thompson and Sullivan).

- (November 15, 2004) The new album is out now. It's called Everyone's Having Fun Tonight! It's got 16 tracks on it. Fun stuff.

- (October 25, 2004) The new Todd Solondz film, Palindromes, is making the rounds of the international festivals. I have four songs in it. I wrote the songs, that is; I don't perform them. The are performed by some of the characters in the film known as the Sunshine Family.

- (May 18, 2004) I've been back in the studio for a few weeks already on a new CD. It should be available in a few months and will include versions of "American Splendor" and "Happiness."

- (February 3, 2004) The American Splendor DVD is out, featuring my song as an added feature. Also, check out the directors' track, where they and Pekar's wife mention me during the scene I appear onscreen.

- (September 23, 2003) Watch out for my gig at the Baggot Inn at 2:30 in the afternoon on Sunday November 16. I will play a mini-set as part of the International Pop Overthrow festival.

- (August 16, 2003) Watch out for my gig at Makor in NYC September 16. More details to follow.

- (August 15, 2003) American Splendor is out. Go see it and check out my cameo singing the title song. Also, it's official: my song "Something about the Night" will be included in Robert Altman's next release, The Company, which stars the lovely Neve Campbell.

- (August 7, 2003) The film Boys Life 4 has made it to theaters. This anthology of short films about gay life includes the film Bumping Heads. My song "Somebody to Blame" is heard on the tail credits of this short.

- (January 21, 2003) The film American Splendor, in which I appear, won the Grand Jury prize at the 2003 Sundance Film Festival. Look for it in theaters in August.

- (September 16, 2002) When He Was Fab, the George Harrison tribute featuring my version of "Don't Bother Me" is now available from www.jealousy-records.com.

- (September 16, 2002) My song "Somebody to Blame" is featured on the tail credits of Brian Sloan's short film Bumping Heads.

- (January 10, 2002) I was interviewed by Michael McCartney on Michael's show on KONI- FM in Maui, Hawaii. Michael also played "(I Just Wanna Be) Your Steve McQueen" and "Record Collection," which will be added to the station's playlist.

- (November 17, 2001) A feature article about me will appear in Sweden's top music magazine, Sonic. The CD compilation included with the magazine will include my track, "(I Just Wanna Be) Your Steve McQueen."

- (November 17, 2001) I have been asked to contribute a track to a George Harrison tribute album. The track, which will be recorded on November 27, is the early Beatles tune, "Don't Bother Me."

- (November 17, 2001) I'm off to Cleveland on November 20th to shoot a scene in an HBO film called American Splendor. I will be singing my original song, also called "American Splendor."

- (October 20, 2001) I booked a show for my birthday, December 18th. Come see me at the Baggot Inn, 82 W. 3rd St, NYC. Free

- (October 20, 2001) I have been hired to give the Eytan sound to the music of a Nickelodeon commercial for the Bob the Builder" Sweepstakes. I have arranged and produced my own version of the show's pre-existing theme song (which evidently was a hit in the UK).

- (September 8, 2001) The new compilation Pop Under the Surface Vol. 4 has been released and includes my previously unreleased track "Smart Enough"

- (August 4, 2001) The record release show on July 17th, 2001 was a great success. I performed 19 songs in 50 minutes, including an encore of "Reciproco," my new song in Spanish. The new album Was It Something I Said? sold like hotcakes! (Or at least lukewarm cakes!)

- (June 22, 2001) The radio show L'Eixordador in Catalonia (Northern Spain) found my music on www.hispaMP3.com , Spain's premiere music website - see below - and started to play it. They then had me record a number of promo spots, including one in the local language, Catalan! They will soon include an MP3 of one of my songs on their site.

- (June 6, 2001) I released my third CD, Was It Something I Said?" The CD features 16 new songs, including "(I Just Wanna Be) Your Steve McQueen" from the Tao of Steve soundtrack. (Pop luminaries the Lolas, Mark Bacino and Joe Mannix all make guest appearances.) One of the songs, "Leaving You," has already been used in episode of NBC's hit comedy, Ed.

- (June 6, 2001) My song "When Good Girls Go Bad" is featured on the compilation What's Up Buttercup? put out by Lazy Cat Records in Japan. The album also features cuts from the Lolas, Mark Bacino, Splitsville, Bill Lloyd and other great pop acts.

- I'm the subject of an article on the premiere Spanish music website, www.hispaMP3.com. Along with the article, you can find three MP3's from the soon-to-be-released Was It Something I Said?" "Do I Have to Say It?," "When Good Girls Go Bad," and "(I Just Wanna Be) Your Steve McQueen."

- I was interviewed by Satomi Takashima for the first issue of the new Japanese pop magazine Sugar Shock! So if you can read Japanese or have a friend who can, make sure to get a hold of this great zine. If you can't read Japanese it's worth learning how to do it just to read this informative interview!

- I returned to performing in December 2000. I took part in a songwriters' circle hosted by Joe Mannix at the Living Room. The overwhelming audience participation of the closing number, "Record Collection," tore the roof off the place. The place is now totally roof-less. Believe it or not! I then played my own solo acoustic gig at the Living Room in January 2001. Despite a blizzard, the place was full.
